Today I've passed over 10 billion credits.
My new rank is Tryptophan.

Congratulations, Zoltan :-) A great achievement!

Gratulálok - I hope that is congratulations in Hungarian.

Thank you for your significant contribution to the GPUGRID community. I see that you also have credit for 18 scientific publications. Well done!

Here is to another 10B in the next few years. Not sure what would be next for badges though. Someone smarter than me would have to figure that out.

Maybe we could come up with some suggestions from the group?

Thanks to everyone else who has been contributing to GPUGRID as well. We are all playing a role to solve problems that I firmly believe are worthwhile.

Gratulálok - I hope that is congratulations in Hungarian.
That's right. :)

Luckily this is a one word phrase (without any synonyms), so the machine translation won't mess it up. But (believe me) don't try to machine translate complex sentences to Hungarian, as it will be: (perhaps it's true for many languages)
a, funny
b, gibberish
c, ambiguous
d, unintelligible
We (Hungarians - perhaps other nationalities also) exploit this as a spam filter, as machine translated spam messages usually fit to at least one of the above.
The funniest results of such machine translations come from the far east, usually in the form of a user's manual.

Köszönöm szépen! "Thank you (very) much!"
Google translate will do this right only because this is another unmistakable phrase.
But
Köszönöm = Thanks
szépen = beautifully
If I say "Nagyon köszönöm" it means the same thing,
Nagyon = very (much)
in this case the order of the two words are reversed, because this is a simple attributed expression with the same meaning, but more formal than "Köszönöm szépen" (which is more informal)
The subjective is usually hidden in the Hungarian language, unless it should be emphasized, or to make it unambiguous (so in the formal language it's usually not hidden).
The combination of the above is also valid (and have the same meaning):
Nagyon szépen köszönöm! (which is formal and informal also)

It took 7 years and 2 months.

(Gratulálok) Congratulations Zoltan!

RaymondFO is next in line for Tryptophan - will be the fastest Cruncher (~5 years) to reach 10 billion GPUGRID credits.

Congratulations RaymondFO for passing over 10 billion credits!

It's obvious that it takes less and less time to aggregate a given amount of credits because the speed of computing is still growing according to Moore's law. However, the present transistor technology (MOS-FET) has nearly reached its (atomic) size limits, there are other possibilities to continue miniaturization. Also there's quantum computing, which will turn the whole IT industry (and everything based on IT - so our everyday life) upside down.
That's why I think it would be nice to have BOINC statistics with interest rate (according to Moore's law) applied to the credits (=the sooner you begin crunching the harder to take your position for later contributors).

I passed over 8 billion credits today.
The last billion took 5 months and 19 days (That's 172 days).
So, by the virtue of the authority vested in me hereby I award myself with the Tyrosine and the Arginine badges :)

@Admins: Seems that Stoneageman, Zoltan and Raymond (other fellow crunchers will follow) valiantly storm the total credit badges and would possibly appreciate yet another incentive for reaching the 15B and 20B. What do you think? So may I suggest to create some more badges which do not necessarily represent basic amino acids, but probably heavier proteins, such as Dystrophine, Hemoglobin or Myoglobin, as a reward for reaching those milestones?
I would love to see HCF1 protein folding and interaction simulations to help my little boy... someday.
