I noticed the following error in my logs tonight: Spock GPUGRID 25/09/2009 7:44:07 PM Restarting task p410000-IBUCH_3_pYEEI_2109-0-20-RND7808_0 using acemd version 667 Spock GPUGRID 25/09/2009 8:43:58 PM [error] Can't rename output file p410000-IBUCH_3_pYEEI_2109-0-20-RND7808_0_5 to projects/www.gpugrid.net/p410000-IBUCH_3_pYEEI_2109-0-20-RND7808_0_5: Error 2 Spock GPUGRID 25/09/2009 8:44:04 PM [error] Can't rename output file p410000-IBUCH_3_pYEEI_2109-0-20-RND7808_0_6 to projects/www.gpugrid.net/p410000-IBUCH_3_pYEEI_2109-0-20-RND7808_0_6: Error 2 Spock GPUGRID 25/09/2009 8:44:04 PM Computation for task p410000-IBUCH_3_pYEEI_2109-0-20-RND7808_0 finished You'll notice its running acemd 6.67 so it may have been addressed by a later app. Its running under BOINC 6.6.37 on XP. I've had this problem for quite some time now. 9/27/2009 8:21:53 AM GPUGRID [error] Can't rename output file a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_5 to projects/www.gpugrid.net/a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_5: Error 2 9/27/2009 8:21:59 AM GPUGRID [error] Can't rename output file a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_6 to projects/www.gpugrid.net/a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_6: Error 2 9/27/2009 8:21:59 AM GPUGRID Computation for task a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0 finished 9/27/2009 8:21:59 AM GPUGRID Output file a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_1 for task a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0 absent 9/27/2009 8:21:59 AM GPUGRID Output file a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_2 for task a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0 absent 9/27/2009 8:21:59 AM GPUGRID Output file a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0_3 for task a347-GIANNI_BINDT2-0-10-RND0760_0 absent Windows XP 32 bit, SP3, Nvidia driver 190.38, PNY GTX 260 - 216, BOINC 6.6.37. Does the WU crunch for a while, or the error happens immediately on start? In any case, probably they are not the problem but just a misworded message (app fails and therefore some output files are missing). |

Does the WU crunch for a while, or the error happens immediately on start? In any case, probably they are not the problem but just a misworded message (app fails and therefore some output files are missing). It seems to occur when its finished, so presumably trying to get the files into the appropiate folder. I have just checked the logs on 3 machines and can't see it mentioned. I'd suggest acemd 6.71 and/or BOINC 6.10.7 might have fixed it. BOINC blog |

I noticed the same this morning. It occurs when a WU finishes. See WU PME73-OTTO_HERG5-11-40-RND9476_0 |

The message is harmless, although misleading. It should come out upon the end of several WU types. MarkJ and Annabel's WUs seem to have been crunched and credited correctly, btw. For Steve Dodd: you may have a problem with the setup, because many WUs failed to recognize your graphic board on startup (not all, oddly, in fact I wonder if you have some uncommon hw arrangement). In your case, as well, the message is coincidental. |
