What is my localhost login right after I installed YDL? I don\'t remember providing that during the setup process. I know I did enter a password. Also, how do I switch it back to the game OS? ps3-boot-game-os command doesn\'t work for me!! |

What is my localhost login right after I installed YDL? Well, normaly you choose a username during the installation, but I had the same with my last PS3 where I could only install in text mode... Hmmm... Do you see a Graphical interface to log in or is it someting Terminal like? If you are in a Terminal you can Login as \"root\" with the password you provided during the install, and add a user with: useradd username passwd password After the new useraccount is created, you can login as the user and then enter startx to start the GUI... [EDIT] To reboot to the game OS you have to type boot-game-os at the kboot prompt! ;) pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |

Yes, I followed the guide, and it says to installtext (which is install in text mode). I tried not to type that in initial install, the GUI showed up, but I get some error after I click on the first \"next\" button.
I am using terminal like (like DOS)
I have resetted my PS3 last night. Now is YDL still there? I will try that today.
To reboot to the game OS you have to type boot-game-os at the kboot prompt! ;)
|

Yep, it should still be there... If you try it, boot YDL and wait until you come to the DOS like thing. There you can login with root and your password. (Don´t be scared, you don´t see the password while typing, but it really works! ;) ) Then you can follow the instructions in my last post to create a user account and start the Graphical user interface... pixelicious.at - my little photoblog |
