This looks promising for Vista and above, downclocking problem. Seems too easy.. Sorry, I've not quite figured out how to make a link clickable. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/nvidia.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2441 |

With 190.38 drivers, vista sp1....that option is not available in my nvidia control panel. Anybody know why? I'm running 8800GSs, so that may have something to with it. "This feature is available only on select GeForce 9 Series and above GPUs that support multiple performance levels (idle, 3D, etc) and applies only to DirectX and OpenGL-based applications running under Windows Vista and above." |

I'm running 8800GSs, so that may have something to with it. G92 based cards "only" use ~30W at idle, so nvidia figured they wouldn't "need" downclocking in 2D, so these have no power profiles at all. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |
