Not as of 2 minutes ago.. I have 8 in progress and asked for additional work through 'update'. "Reached per-CPU limit of 1 task.". I have 8 threads and 8 GPUs.

I unfortunately can't remember which version, but for this setting you'll need at least a 6.6.x BOINC Client.
AFAIK it won't work with 6.4.7.

Maybe give 6.6.37 a try...

Thanks for that ! So far, knock on wood, new drivers and boinc work. I expect 3 results within 1,5 hours.

I have also performed a server update to see if that helps. There were many changes in that part of the server code.

It is working now ! Thank you.. Got 8 new workunits, upon returning one. New one started calculations before the one being returned finished uploading. Very good ! This will make things much more efficient.

I have a single GSO 9600. I have always had just one WU waiting. Now I have three waiting. (BOINC 6.5.0.)

I think that only with the latest client the number of gpu job in progress is reported.
On a new client, 1 gpu should be two WUs.

With my machine Q6600 with two graphic cards one GTX280 and one GTX285, I have now 8 workunits (Linux Boinc 6.4.5 and nvidia drivers 185.18.14).

I have 2x 8800GT and 1x 9500GT. So, 3 GPU's and I have 9 WU's in progress. Given the relative "slowness" of my cards compared to newer beasts, it takes about 12-14 hours / WU on the 8800GT's and about 40 hours on the 9500 GT.

So, estimating this out, I should be able to complete 9 every 2 days or so. I should easily still hit deadlines no problem, but am wondering about others being distributed the same WU's and finishing early (any of my WU's not started would just be withdrawn and replaced with another new one). Is this how it will work, or will no one else get my WU's until I go past the deadline.

BTW, I like having extra WU's in case the internet / servers goes down.

FYI, I am still using old reliable 6.5.0 BOINC.

It looks like I get two tasks per CPU and not two per GPU... On a quadcore computer with a GTX260 and 8800GT I have 8 GPUGRID tasks - two crunching and six in the queue.

But on another quadcore with a single 9800GTX I have only 3 tasks and got the message "reached limit of 2 GPU tasks", so I don't know if the setting is really working...

I have 6.6.37, and on this host i have 8 WU in progrs - acording to www, but in BOINC manager I see only 4....

BOINC dowload 4 WU, then I reset the project, and he dowload new 4 WU, but 4 previously dowloaded disapeard....

Also it dowload still 6.64 app

I think that only with the latest client the number of gpu job in progress is reported.
On a new client, 1 gpu should be two WUs.

Are you referring to the BOINC client or the project client ? It may be wise for everyone to explicitly refer to "BOINC client <version>" and "project client <version>" to avoid unnecessary confusion. I am running BOINC client 6.6.37 and project client 6.64

With my machine Q6600 with two graphic cards one GTX280 and one GTX285, I have now 8 workunits (Linux Boinc 6.4.5 and nvidia drivers 185.18.14).

Sorry to be more precise,

application version 6.66 .

On the dual GPU PC I still used 6.5.0, on the single GPU PC I use 6.6.36...
I've switched now from 6.5.0 to 6.6.37 to see if it makes a difference. Will report back when I have crunched a few tasks...

Are you referring to the BOINC client or the project client ?

Just to clarify - If we talk about the client we talk about the BOINC client.
Projects send out applications to the participants, not clients... ;)
