hi! My system: phenom 9950be nforce 750a chipset (gf 8300 gpu) geforce 9800gtx geforce 8600gt One display per card. vista64 sp1 I used the folding@home gpu client with configuration for all three cards, but I want to consolidate to boinc, which I already used for 4 cpu-threads. with driver 180.x only one gpu was used by boinc 6.6.20. now updated to driver 185.xx and boinc 6.6.31. added a new file 'cc_config.xml' to boinc folder to set the ...<use_all_gpus>1... option. now the 9800gtx and 8600gt gpus are used, but not the 8300 integrated in nforce 750a. How can it be employed? -- To watch video (with overlay) I allways have to stop the gpu-task corresponding to the video-display. otherwise the video achieves just about 2fps. Is there a way automatically stopping the gpu-processing when an overlay-video is detected? greetings al |

Hi, just for the sake of fun and testing: what video player are you using? If VLC or an mplayer-derivative, you could try to change the output driver to "opengl". |

@TG: thank you for your answer. I typically use the mediaplayer classic, vlc, powerdvd, smplayer and the pinnacle TV application TVCenterPro for dvb-t. The OpenGL option (and others) in vlc and smplayer did not change for the better. It seems that video-overlays suffer badly from gpugrid. Also normal applications refresh noticeable slower. Writing this text in Firefox I notice a distracting lag of about .3 of a second before the caracters appear or got deleted. Same with dragging windows or work with graphic applications. I expect this slowdown is usual with gpgpu, but would like to reduce it a little. - and automatically suspend gpugrid for videos. greetings al |
