Hi Everybody, I haven't run F@H in months and I don't do a really good job of keeping up wth it.....however, I do scan a set of forums periodically. I have been running Logmein for months now. Never seemed to cause any issues. However, lately--every time I boot/reboot--I lose WUs that error out for no reason. I've had probably all of the issues that everyone else has had lately also. There is a known issue with Logmein and the F@H Gpu client. Now there is a suspected issue with Logmein and the F@H SMP client. Logmein causes smp crash in Vista and win7 x64 ? I am down to about 1 error/day finally (sheesh!). I have disabled Logmein on all of my rigs. Since there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to all of the issues lately.....I'm just wondering how many people having WU issues are also running Logmein? Logmein Free here...disabled now. |

Several remote desktop clients will interfere with the operation of BOINC GPU and it appears Folding@Home GPU applications. The problem seems to be that these applications seem to assume that they can virtualize the GPU and as soon as they do that ... well ... the GPU calculation programs cannot work any longer ... VNC seems to be the only client that allows remote log in to other computer's desktops. |

When remote desktop causes an error with BOINC-GPU there's a relatively specific error message different from the ones seen during the recent problems. So thanks for asking, but I don't think that's causing them. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Ok, Thanx, Guys. I really don't want to uninstall Logmein, but I'm just going to leave it disabled for a while longer.... When remote desktop causes an error with BOINC-GPU there's a relatively specific error message different from the ones seen during the recent problems. So thanks for asking, but I don't think that's causing them. Would you mind spelling out what that error is for me, so I know what to look for...or recognize if I see it...? |

Could be the "no CUDA device found", but I'm not sure. Hope I'll recognize the next time I see it ;) MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Thanx, ETA! Well, it could just be coincidence, but my planned/unplanned...boot/reboot error-out issues have gone away since disabling Logmein. I really don't want to uninstall it, so I'm going to keep my eyes open for a while. Anybody know what would cause my GPU overclocks to reset and error out a WU? Seems that's had something to do with my ~1/day error. On 2x gpu rig--one gpu would reset to stock and error out a wu....the other doesn't. Thinking it might have something to do with AVG, Windows Defender or the like, but none of that stuff is set to auto-scan....and I only keep an AV on this i7/everyday rig. Not sure if this is new with my starting to use EVGA Precision Tool.... Any thoughts? |

Could be that it errors out and is reset by the driver, which would likely mean it's started up at default clocks. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |
