We have tested with drivers 185.xx on a 8800GT. All the WUs fail. With driver 180.xx all WU are fine. (unless it works) Even with GTX200 cards, is best to stay on 180.xx drivers or any driver version which worked for you in the past. So, we can just suggest to downgrade to older drivers (180.xx) seem to work. We have reported the issue to Nvidia. gdf |

We have tested with drivers 185.xx on a 8800GT. All the WUs fail. Um, not my experience at the moment... and I have been running 185.85 for nearly two days now ... the only crashes I have had were because I was gaming and the game ate my computer... Other than that, it has been working for me with the GTX280 card. Now, if tasks are a comming that are different, well, then, different story ... |

I am running 185.xx drivers on my 9800GT and GTS250 with no problems so far. My times to completion seem faster. I am running Seti on the GPUs also. |

Can you specify your system: OS, cuda driver, (do you also have the toolkit installed?) thanks. |

Can you specify your system: OS, cuda driver, (do you also have the toolkit installed?) I just have the driver off the web site, no special toolkit installed. XP Pro SP 3 with most of the latest hot-fixes too, 32-bit Q9300 (quad) w1 185.85 |

So, this should work because you have GTX280 cards. On 280 we run fine as well. gdf |

So, this should work because you have GTX280 cards. Then the title is wrong ... "Don't use CUDA 2.2 185.xx drivers on non-200 level cards - the lower cards don't work and all tasks will die and the end of the world as we know it will happen" ... Hmm, maybe it could be tightened up a tad bit ... |

I have this WU that have worked 665193 (p10000-RAUL). My system: Vista Ultimate x64 Q6600 O/C 3.7Ghz 4G Ram GF9600GT o/c to 700/1800 with driver 185.85 Boinc 6.6.28 Mixing with SETI now and then ... Using Raistermers version with CUDA lib 2.2 All working as it should.Maybe with some minor issues, that are more my own mistakes. |

Let me add to the confusion....;) Yesterday--1 error Today So Far--5 Successful WUs and no errors....so far. Going back to May 12th and before....lot's of errors. Some my fault, some not. My task list is here: Tasks My PC list is here: Computers I have not changed anything at all in the last 3-4 days. Still running 6x 8800GS and 185.85, 185.26 drivers. I've done nothing that I am aware of in the last couple of days to explain the improvement. The 1 error from yesterday was after a planned shutdown and then boot up with about 10 minutes in between. Once Boinc started up...that WU errored out in less then a minute. Why? I have no idea...it shouldn't have, but it did. It was very close to complete. I have been running those 185.26 drivers on those rigs since they came out in March. They ran fine. Then everything went to shat recently and now things are improving again. I don't "knowingly" download the toolkit. Never thought I needed it and never really understood exactly what it is. Hoping this helps somehow....:) |

Can you specify your system: OS, cuda driver, (do you also have the toolkit installed?) I have an X2 3800 with an GTS 250 using 185.85 drivers with the 6.6.28 Boinc using Windows XP, also a Q6600 with a 9800GT, using 185.85 drivers with 6.6.28 Boinc, using Vista. No overclocking on anything. So far no problems since installing the 185.85 drivers. I just installed the drivers from website. |

I've been running 185.xx drivers for 5 weeks with only issues with my 2x 8800GT's and 1x 9500GT on the "KASHIF_HIVPR" and "IBUCH_KID" WU's. All others working fine. Apparently, it is not that the driver causes *all* WU's to fail, only these well-known suspect ones (and most only slower cards, but some on high-end ones). If there is a fix from nvidia in a future driver release, then great. Until then, I'll just keep plugging along with the 185.xx drivers and hope I don't get any "KASHIF_HIVPR" and "IBUCH_KID" WU's. |

System: 9800GTX+ 512MB, 185.66, Vista 64, 6.5.0 Been running since quite some time and the only errors were "KASHIF_HIVPR" and "IBUCH_KID" WU's. No more errors since these have mostly been withdrawn. My successful WUs include ~40% with amber fields, but no problematic ones. MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

We have tested with drivers 185.xx on a 8800GT. All the WUs fail. Were these the problematic WUs, "KASHIF_HIVPR" and "IBUCH_KID", or also normal ones? MrS Scanning for our furry friends since Jan 2002 |

Let me add to the confusion....;) Add to the quoted post above: 9 successful WUs and 1 error. The errored WU crapped out showing 140 secs, so it barely got started. I cannot speak toward the 185.85 driver, but whatever incompatibility change occurred was with the WUs, not the 185.26 driver. CUDA? I don't know, but I've not messed with the 2 rigs running the 185.26 driver--Yet the WU issues arrived and seem to be clearing up with no changes to those rigs. Just FYI all 4 rigs ran 185.26 without issue until the big mess started. The i7 is new and has been pretty finicky with the 185.xx drivers, but 185.85 seems to run well. Farm2 was just changed over to Server 2008 this last weekend with the driver upgraded to 185.85--prior was Vista 64 and 185.26--it's going to Win 7 shortly. I guess my point is that 185.26 has run well for me on multiple rigs. Yet the WUs still failed--during the mess, and I don't currently seem to be having issues with the 185.85 driver. Also, today: these ol' 8800GSs completed 1x 10K WU and 2x 8K WUs....... HTH |

Both my 9600 GSO cards have been running 185.81 drivers for quite a while. No problems except for the dreaded "KASHIF_HIVPR" and "IBUCH_KID" WU's. |

I did a driver upgrade (WinXP) from 182.50 to 185.85. The machine has a GTS250 card. After its gone through all the motions and rebooted it seems to be working fine. I go into the Nvidia control panel -> Help -> System information, it says its still running 182.50 drivers. I had a GPUgrid wu that crashed shortly after. The only way I know to get the drivers to install correctly is to uninstall the old drivers first and then install the new one. BOINC blog |

GT 250 is G92 like the 8800GT. It's not a G200 like GTX 260/280... thx marketing Nvidia. To make new card with "old" chip. |

Now with 182.5 driver on 1 GTX 260 + 1 8800 GT, and boinc 6.6.2 I have 0 error. If I update graphic driver(185.85), I have 100% errors. Host : 8400, vista 64. |
