I have had this message for a number of days and am getting no WUs.

I upgraded to the latest CUDA drivers from nVidia and the WUs I was working on aborted.

Since then whenever I try to request new WUs I get the above error message "GPUGRID Message from server: (reached daily quota of 4 results)".

I have reset the project and detached from it and reattached, beyond that I am using the force ("the nForce is strong in this one" "this is not the graphics card you are looking for" "It's the gpu that made the Kessel run in less than 12 parsecs" "Help me GPU grid forumers. You're my only hope" etc)

On this page I see a large number of "client error" "compute error" messages.

I have reverted to the previous nVidia drivers and wish to get on with the business of beating data into submission with my graphics card :)

BOINC has a "built in" protection mechanism to prevent bad computers from just downloading and erroring out on all the tasks that they have... so over time you get to the point where you will only get one task a DAY ... if that dies, well, not such a loss to the project.

The thing is, we need to get your computer to stop killing the tasks. Sadly, I am not a linux guy so I am not sure what is the best first step.

That said, my FIRST inclination would be to try to find another Linux guy and look at what driver version is he / she using and get that installed ... then after you run a task with that we can move forward...

Failing that, sometimes the "latest" driver is not the best. Again, i do not know of a "good" version for linux to suggest ... the alternative I am suggesting here is that you may have a bad build of the driver you have installed.

As you compete work successfully the limit is raised pretty fast. The idea is to encourage you to fix your system ...:)

The bad news is that once you use up a day's quota, you have to wait for the next day. BUt, if that first task runs, it will be reported and you might even get two the next time you ask for work ...

Think of how many tasks you could zoom through on a project like SaH where the daily limits are very high ...

I will just disable gpugrid and wait until ubuntu breaks on me again and reinstall.

This should give gpugrid time to catch up with the latest cuda release.

I don't understand: you reverted back to the working driver, you have 2 WUs assigned (and no error message yet) and you want to disable GPU-Grid? And I don't think it's so much about "catching up with the new CUDA software" .. it's more about nVidia not breaking something in new driver releases.

I have just reinstalled Ubuntu and used the default restricted nvidia driver, all is going well now.
