Hey guys,
I was wondering if someone could please spare the time to explain to me what it means after the completion of a task, when it says "Completed and Validated" on the website. I know, I'm a noob..

I'm a bit obsessive and I just wanted to make sure that if my computer processes a task wrong that maybe it may say on the website if this happens. What does 'validated' and 'error' mean? I really like the project and overclocked my GPU (GTX 750 if it helps) hopefully helping it to do tasks faster and would hate to accidentally sabotage it. Also I may be questioning the stability of my overclock even after stress testing multiple times and not seeing artifacts...I think...I already said I'm obsessive...

Hi Chris,

Allow me to explain how it works in my best wording:

Completed and Validated: This means that the task has successfully completed on the computer and you have received credit from the specific project your computer worked on, and the results your computer processed during the project also being sent to the web sucessfully. When I say "web", I mean it being sent to gpugrid.

tl;dr:

Everything was successful

Error:

This means that your computer did not do the project correctly due to an error. The project is then sent to another person to have them work on it. Errors happen for more than one reason but I do know that overclocking your GPU can lead to errors with the projects, which will result in saying "error while computing"

I'm pretty obsessive too so I can relate plus it helps to know what these things mean, so if you have an issue, it can help diagnose the problem. Glad you asked!

Any more questions I'll try to answer, but there are some other members that have been around for quite longer than me and are much more computer-savvy, as well as knowing some tips for this project. Hopefully they can see this too.

Thanks Logan that helps a lot.
I'm going to go on the assumption that when you said 'overclocking can lead to errors' you mean if the overclock has been done unsuccessfully it could indicate itself by saying 'error'.

My card has completed a few runs successfully while overclocked so I'm going to guess it's stable?

Seems to be if the projects complete successfully but I would keep an eye out just in case for errors.
