New version 6.3.12 is released:

http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.3.12_windows_x86_64.exe
http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_6.3.12_windows_intelx86.exe

I hope the issues of 6.3.11 are solved and hope for a Linux version coming soon :)

LOL...

On my quad it only runs PS3GRID on 1 cpu/gpu and leaves the other cores idle even though under 6.3.11 it would run other projects on the other cores....back to 6.3.11 for me.

Did you set your preferences to allow more than 1 CPU/GPU to run?

Seems to be running the same as .11 for me. Vista HP 64 SP1, Q9450.

Still takes 1 core to run the GPU....can't do that, so I am going to finish this WU and then wait for ya'll to get the 5 core deal sorted out.

HTH

EDIT: Just wanted to add--I shutdown .11, installed .12 and launched for a few minutes....ran the same as before. Rebooted and there was no change that I could see.....not sure what changes were made though...

Is that a new preference? Otherwise I have my preferences set to run a max of 16 cpus (did that so I could set and forget it ages ago).

[edit]In any case I re-installed and checked everywhere for a relevant preference....100% of processors is set. Even tried 120% ;) It was still only running a single gpu/cpu. I gone back to 6.3.11 (again). [/edit]

OK, I will not even try to use this buggy version...

Just tried 6.3.12 on Vista64 and I have the same problem like the others here.
BOINC only runs the GPUGRID task but not a single CPU task...

should have tested 6.3.12. wow that version was a masterpiece of programming! Cuda runs fine, but no other tasks are startet - hilarious...

so my advice to everyone is do not install 6.3.11 or 6.3.12 use 6.3.10 instead

I am a software developer and 6.3.12 would not have been even suitable for a daily build for our internal SVN... Who did the QA on that one?

6.3.12 works fine for me. To get going I just unsuspend 1 project at a time. I usually suspend all projects to start with then unsuspend GPUGRID, once running unsuspend other projects in this case only WCG , this then runs happily on 3 cores.

I have had to to this for the last few versions on windows and linux.

Now I want to sort out this ncpu+1 config. Since just now I have three cores running 100% on WCG and the 4th core less than 1% for GPUGRID. Would be good to use this spare power on another WCG WU.

Any easy guides to setting the NCPU+1 setting?

So you haven't looked at the ncpu+1 thread?
