I\'m pretty much lost if it comes to Linux.
But it\'s great how easy it is to install YDL.

Which Boinc client to choose and how to set it up on a PS3 however keeps confusing me.

I used the USB Version for some time but I had troubles ever and ever.

I think it would help a lot, if someone would write a sticky note about what\'s the easiest way of setting everything up.

Is someone looking after http://www.ps3grid.net/PS3GRID/PS3client/ to provide updated clients for the group?
This would help a lot.

Thank you

The USB stick version is the easiest and was designed just for that purpose, to be able to run without having to do a full install, especially for novices to linux.

I would write a FAQ, but I do not know linux either, I got it working though. The instructions already on the site should already be enough.

The error in the download was fixed a few days ago, have you tried the USB stick version since then ? Others are reporting success now, see other threads which addressed this issue.

You should only use the boinc clients on the PS3GRID site for the PS3. They have special modifications to allow the PS3 to be recognized. The official boinc clients (from the berkeley site) do not yet have this ability, it will be in the future 6.1.13 or greater cleints.

Yes, the developer update the client when neccessary. The USB stick version was recently updated, again all this was covered in another thread.
