Hi,
I've got a GTX260 (on machine id 24362 ) that doesn't seem to be doing much. The log has messages like:
----------------------------------------------
23/11/2009 4:36:27 PM GPUGRID Sending scheduler request: Requested by user.
23/11/2009 4:36:27 PM GPUGRID Requesting new tasks for GPU
23/11/2009 4:36:32 PM GPUGRID Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks
23/11/2009 4:36:32 PM GPUGRID Message from server: No work sent
23/11/2009 4:36:32 PM GPUGRID Message from server: (reached daily quota of 5 tasks)
----------------------------------------------
A while back I have a recollection I saw errors with it's returned results.
Is this why it's not being given work?
Thanks,
Far |

Looking at your recent results for that machine, they all failed. There are known issues with the GTX260.

The drivers you're running on the GTX 260 are way too old.
The one's you're using on the other card are OK but still old.

OK I'll update the drivers.
Also from memory the card has a very slight factory overclock on it, I'll back that down too and see how it goes. Would be a shame not to get it working since it was only bought for doing GPU calcs! |

OK, it's now running the current WHQL drivers,
and I have underclocked the card to about 5% below stock nvidia settings for the GTX260.
But it is still refusing to collect tasks.
Is there anything that you have to reset on the project side?

Machine keeps crashing/freezing.
Saw other thread about GTX260 issues, had thought it was just my card being locked out, but sounds like I'm also an unlucky one.
For reference its an inno3d factory OC 216/55nm version. |

Heat is the most common cause of crashes.
If you can try it with the case side off and a fan blowing in from the front of the case onto the card then you will know for sure if the problem is heat related. You might also want to ease off on any other projects so that you can test it that way. So dont run and Boinc CPU tasks for a while. |
