Hi, what do you mean by disk full? I presumed the project ran o nmultiple servers, no? Should i suspend processing the existinh parts that are running within my copy of BOINC?

Thanks for the update, any idea when it might be back online?

Hi, what do you mean by disk full? I presumed the project ran o nmultiple servers, no? Should i suspend processing the existinh parts that are running within my copy of BOINC? It means the server that runs this project has no more storage available for use. There is only one server. https://www.gpugrid.net/server_status.php

Courage to find a solution in these difficult times.

We have a situation, and no quick solution. I'm suspending the project. Now that GPUGrid Project is suspended, and Universitary institutions are entering their Christmas seasonal pause: I Guess that Project's Internet bandwidth will be hugely underused. I wonder whether migth it be possible to slowly go migrating Project's data via Internet to any kind of temporary cloud storage, or another available server on a University's different subnetwork (?)

And what about the pending uploads of completed tasks? Can you find a way to get those off our system?

What are the stats, how TB do you have now on your server, how much do you need, what type of disk? Some of us may have the hardware available that we could donate if that would be appropriate/helpful. Just brainstorming here.

We donate our computer time to perform work. Could we donate storage till a resolution has been found? I have terabytes of room myself, just a thought.

it would be nice if we could at least upload and report our current work before they expire.

it would be nice if we could at least upload and report our current work before they expire. That would be the best scenario for suspending the project, but on the flip side there won't be as much lost work as there would have been if hosts were allowed to have more than one WU per GPU in the cue, should they be abandoned. Now I see the wisdom in that practice. I hope university politics isn't exacerbating the situation (having spent a career in public higher ed). I really like ServicEnginIC's idea about offsite storage, though surely they've considered it too.

how much disk is required to start it up again?

Hi. Ich, kann, Aufgaben, von Einstein@Home & GPUGRID nicht, als, fertige Anwendung, Hochladen. :-(

Der Server verfügt nicht über genügend Speicherplatz, und Toni sagt, dass die Reparatur nicht schnell oder einfach ist.

I don't understand, Toni. Almost all physical servers allow for RAID expansion if it is local storage. There are many people here willing to donate funds for purchasing more drives. Expanding the RAID would work unless the server is out of bays.

So do we give up and delete our projects/tasks?

So do we give up and delete our projects/tasks? I don't recommend to delete any of the completed WUs. When uploads be restored, overdue tasks won't be bonused, but they usually will get standard credit, unless any other user be resent the same task and return a vaild result before the original one be reported. And they will be contributing to Science the same, despite they are overdue...

My browser now complains every time I try to log in to your server - something about asking for my password in a way that will send it back without any encryption. I THINK I was able to send a donation a few minutes ago, though.

It may not be in raid to simply add in hot swap bay. It would probably need sufficient type drive of type and daemon might need to be pointed to live storage and relayed to it.

Don't delete your tasks. I see some of mine have uploaded and are waiting to report.

I have no problem with Einstein. All tasks are completed and validated. I am running QuChemPedlA@home using Windows 10 and VirtualBox, no problem also. 94% of users run native Linux and have problems with the latest Linux kernels. I have a Linux Virtual Machine on a Windows 10 host. It runs SuSE Tumbleweed, which is a development version, and updated almost daily. It now has a 5.9.14 kernel but Linus Torvalds has already released 5.10.

For those wondering: the main disks are hundreds of TBs each. When they fill up, the server also fills up, and headaches begin.

Toni, do we need a fundraiser to purchase larger or backup storage disks?

The downtime was not from your PC. It was our project. The message that you may have read on the client was a general announcement. I truly apologize for the downtime.
