Hi all,

I recently bought my first mobo with Nvidia SLI. So far I have one GTX 1070 and am considering another for SLI.

Will SLI work on this project and make a difference for me? Thank you.

Applications would specifically have to be written to take use SLI but from what I've read from other publishers, it isn't worthwhile and probably would slow down your computations of work units.

A short answer of will SLI work.... No. Do you need SLI for science...No. Is two 1070s better than 1... Yes. You can still SLI your cards to play games and BOINC will still treat them as two separate GPUs to compute without changing anything.

Exactly.
However SLI caused some problems back in the GTX 480 era.
