Hello!

Will there be some more of the applications available for other plattforms than the CELL? Standard x86_64 or maybe GPGPU computing?

P.S. this looks like the first project with 100% Linux market share :-)))

I understand that the idea for this project to run on PS3. I was wondering if there is the ability, or any plans, to run it on other platforms, like linux on PCs? I understand it would be much slower. But I assume any additional crunching would be welcome. Similar to having both C2Q and PIII crunching other projects.

I see that there are Linux applications out there. My guess is they were for development, and maybe benchmarking.

Just curious.

We do not expect to have PC applications any time soon, although it would clearly gather a lot of CPUs.

The problem is that, with a PC, the type of applications we are doing now would last over two weeks. Quite useless, much better to run on a cluster. The PS3 is like a little cluster.

GPGPU: We are looking into it, but developing good code for the Cell processor and GPUs is not easy. We may do something here in the future.

So for now, Linux anywhere.
