Hi, I would love to see a bit more information on the website itself rather than buried in forums.

The "system requirements" section is a good start. I've come back to crunch for winter (to help warm my little office!) and I see they've changed since last year. That is very handy.

How about a little more information, such as:
* a description of the 3 project categories that one can subscribe to
* the current rules for allocating bonuses

and so on. Trying to find this by trawling forums is a pain!

Hi lukeu and thanks for the input.

The system requirements section could do with being updated with GF600 cards.
I have now updated the FAQ - Recommended GPUs for GPUGrid crunching list.

Maintenance is the issue with on-site info rather than in-forum info; it's a lot harder to do, and can only be done by staff.

There is actually 4 types of general research categories; Cancer, HIV/AIDS, Neural Disorders and Methodologies. You can't actually chose to crunch one type of research rather than the others. This is because there isn't always work for each category, because the individual research can change weekly/monthly and due to the queue restrictions/server overhead/maintenance requirements.

From the Science page you can find out more information about each type of research,

The current credit rules are, 100% if reported between 2 and 5days, with 25% bonus if reported between 1day and 2days, or 50% bonus if returned within 1day (24h).

Thanks for the info!

Re categories: I was curious more about the details of the standard/beta/long options, which can be selected in the GPUGrid preferences.

Re credit rules: do those rules apply to all WUs, or just long WUs?

If you're looking at system requirements: I note my GPU (GTX 260) just fell under the new minimum spec. Yet, I seem to be able to crank out a standard WU in 6 or 7 hours. Is the minimum a little too strict?

Re maintenance: I see. I'm also happy to see many helpful volunteers in forum threads. I wonder if integrating a wiki into the website could be a solution...? To reduce answering repeat questions (for the volunteers) and the amount of out-of-date info (when searching).

Minimum spec here, I mean: http://www.gpugrid.net/join.php

I notice now I still fall under "recommended" on your post. (Phew!!) Well, I'll probably upgrade soon anyway... not that I have much time for games these days, but go GPUGrid! ;-)

Ah-ha, a bit of useful info can be found on the Server Status page:
