i bought it solely for this project. I get fermi class gpu not supported by cuda 2.2; and acemd beta version is not available on this type of computer, i tryed to download the latest cuda drivers build 263.06 but they say; the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. I tryed downloading different versions of cuda but got the same error and read on the forum you all are only compatible with newer versions of cuda. I tryed to change power consumption on my card under 3d setting but the only option i have is adaptive. can someone clear this up for me, thanks.

Hi, I would tell that there is a superior version to the one used, is the BOINC 6.10.58. and Nvidia drivers 266.58 I do not know if that will be the solution but I think the first would be to upgrade to the new version. Greetings.

Hi Ben, I know you have (or had) an i7-920 and Vista x64, but I cannot see any GPU. What GPU did you purchase?

Did you install 266.58 and Restart the system?
Perhaps you need to reset the GPUGrid project; Boinc Manager, Advanced View, Projects Tab, Reset Project.

If the Boinc Manager settings are messed up you can reset them;
Advanced, Preferences, Clear.

i have a asus gtx 570, but yeah, thanks for the help, i threw myself at the wall until i was the last man standing. (it works now) so basically this is my statement: I think boinc should download from your site with ; activities -- use GPU always, already selected. I mean with say rosetta@home you dont have to manually set that you want the boinc client to work. IT SHOULD WORK WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD IT. Im just saying, not being mad or anything, seems like it might recruit someone to our side instead of say folding@home, or seti. I guess if your real hardcore cruncher youll get around to finding it one way or another *sigh*

just curious, im not sure if that was my main problem on my ati graphics card or not. i didnt think you supported ati, it was a 1gig 4870. Do you all support ati? I would throw it in a dual core machine if you do, dont think you do tho.

I agree, the best GPUGrid settings for your system should become the default Boinc settings on your system when you start crunching for GPUGrid. Especially on a GTX570; it's not like you won't be able to browse the web and crunch on the GPU at the same time. Far too many people keep the default settings, default drivers, and dont reconfigure system settings such as automatic updates, which tend to restart at about 1 to 3am. So it's common to see a task restart from the last checkpoint 5 or 6 times, wasting 15min per task, and people miss the credit bonus because the system restarted an hour after they went to bed and then sat at the log on screen doing nothing. It's alright for CPU only crunching; you can run Boinc as a system process, but nothing like that exists for the GPU. The CPU/GPU priority needs to flip at Boinc HQ.

Good luck,
