I think the SPAM filter should be turned off.

The project now has a couple of moderators here that can watch the message boards for actual SPAM. A lot of the posts have this message in them \"THIS IS NOT SPAM\" which is all that is required to be added to the end of a message to bypass the filter. Another easy way to bypass is is post a message with 1 letter in it, then go back and immediately edit it, place in what was rejected as SPAM and then it goes through without rejection. I\'ve had very short messages rejected, that only contained a URL reference back to another thread in this project, clearly not SPAM. It is making it hard on the participants to write messages about their problems and for the moderators to post useful answers. I have the habit of writing a message and before sending press \"CTRL-A\" (Select all text) and \"CTRL-C\" (Copy to clipboard) as I have had problems with messages, not just here, but on other projects not getting sent, project goes down while writing message. That way it is easy to CTRL-V Paste it back into a new blank message or save it later to try to post again when there is a problem or it gets rejected as SPAM here. So for me it is not as annoying, but if you read some of the other posts that has been made this SPAM filter is annoying to the other users.

If real SPAM starts to appear in mass proportions, we can always turn the filter back on.

Anyone else want to vote to have this filter turned off, plaese post your vote here in this thread.

I don\'t know if it\'s spam related, but on 25 December, 140 new members were added within one minute, and each of them created a team as well. None of them have got any credit so far.

I´m also for turning off the spam filter!
It´s really annoying, and I often had to type a reply two or three times because I forgot to copy the text before I sent it...

No, that is related to the team leaders import function. Those are all valid BOINC team leaders and valid teams. Any team created on the BOINC wide team site will automatically be added to projects with this function and also if the team leader will be added, if they do not already exist.
