With any luck, in less than 24 hours I will be the proud parent of a ps/3. Wi-fi is not available. But you can use a wireless router as a bridge into your wi-fi network. I can\'t answer the HDMI question completely but strictly speaking once you install YDL and setup your own boinc account (there is a default generic account already setup) you don\'t actually need a display. You only need to tell the PS3 to reboot using YDL and it will do its thing without needing any user input. The disadvantage is you\'ll need to do a hard reset (finger on power button till it beeps twice) and will loose any non-default PS3 settings when it reboots into the PS3.

I wish you good luck, but when I tried to install YDL with the composite port, I was able to install YDL, but after the first boot I only got a blank screen.

This is what I was afraid of. I thought I read somewhere that you have to enter something like \"480i\" when YDL boots, to get the proper video output for analog composite. But I could be completely mistaken about that. As far as i know, YDL can only use the HDMI port of the PS3, but I may be wrong...

I ran some Folding for a while, and played some games. All this on a NON-HD TV with the composite cable that came with the PS3.
